I recently picked up The White House Cookbook 1887 Edition on a whim while at a used book store.
So far its entertainment value far exceeds the price I paid for it.
It has instructions on how to do basically everything, from making even the most basic food items from absolute scratch (something I have always admired) to caring for the sick, antidotes for poisons, and refreshing faded linens (which you apparently use chloroform for?!)
It even has a recipe on how to cook Snipe. Apparently Snipes are actually birds. And you can cook them! :o
But this has quickly risen to the top of my favorite books to look at list, replacing the 1940s Surgery manual for it’s historical insight and oddities.
